Collection: Lusid Wavy Hair

What is wavy hair?

Wavy hair strands are curved in an “S” shape that falls in between straight and curly hair. It's also not overly oily, but not overly dry.

Tips for looking after wavy hair

1) Shampoo your scalp

Double shampoo your hair to clean the scalp and then to allow the nutrients to be absorbed, as a healthy scalp will enhance the health of your wavy hair. For fine waves we recommend Lusid Blue Shampoo which is packed with protein to support the structure of finer hair and it contains sweet almond oil to help manage frizz. Lusid Green Shampoo is specifically formulated for medium to thick wavy hair. It contains aloe vera to keep hydration and frizz in check.

4) Condition your hair

Always condition your hair after shampooing to lock in the moisture. For longer hair, we recommend converting your bar to a liquid conditioner.

Use Lusid Green Conditioner Bar for fine waves is packed with pro-vitamin B5 to penetrate the hair so deeply that its nourishing effects are deposited deep into the cortex as well as the scalp, but also contains aloe vera to help eliminate dryness and frizz.

For medium to thick wavy hair, we recommend moving up the Lusid Rainbow scale to our Lusid Yellow Conditioner Bar which has been formulated to fight the frizz. It is rich with argan oil which also hydrates and softens hair.

5) Detangle wet hair

Gently comb through hair ends when wet to prevent breakages. We recommend using our Lusid Leave-In conditioner to help detangle.  Work your way from the bottom up combing gently in a downward direction only.

6) Curl Magic

If you are wanting to give definition to your wavy hair our Lusid Curl Defining Creme Gel is a must-have. Made from organic flaxseed for definition and aloe vera to hydrate and fights frizz. For those with lighter curls, you could alternatively try our Curl Defining Foaming Mousse which has a lightweight formula perfect for wavy hair.

7) Protect your wavy hair

Style your hair in twists, braids, buns, or any way that will protect your hair as it dries.  Use a cotton t-shirt or a micro-fiber towel to soak up excess water from your hair. Air dry or diffuse to protect from heat damage. Avoid fabrics that will absorb nutrients and moisture from the hair. Sleep on a satin or silk pillow, bonnet, or scarf to keep hair from getting tangled. Add a drop of Lusid Smoothing Serum to your hair to lock in the moisture after conditioning.
